JOHN RUVOLO
I have always wondered what drives starting from their own country, to eradicate its roots, to leave children, wives, relatives, risking their lives for a destination unknown, sometimes hostile, sometimes unreachable.
There must be a courage and a strength that only despair can feed and support.
Look at the world, that of the well-being, and hope to be welcomed like distant brothers and sisters, as people who in spite of himself wants only a little bit of hope and a hint of the future.
I took the opportunity to photograph those who are on a boat looking towards the future, the children in refugee camps play “by the children, the women intended to wash the children in a field and between the rubble and tents and welcomes families waiting.
I looked at their eyes very closely and they told me about the war, or persecution, or famine, I looked even better, and I photographed the hope and the eyes of those who look at the world and wants us to live.
